To make this task, a tether is attached to the surface of one of the asteroids, with a spacecraft attached in the other end. The analysis of the equilibrium points to place the tether and the stability of those solutions are made. The irregularities of the bodies, assumed to be ellipsoids, are described by the coefficients of a spherical harmonic expansion. The coefficients of this expansion are functions of the dimensions of the bodies. The equilibrium conditions are studied by searching for the situations where the forces acting in the spacecraft have a zero resultant, assuming that only the gravity of both irregular bodies are present in the system. The method is applied in the double asteroid systems (3169) Ostro and (90) Antiope, which are synchronous systems. To verify the effects of the irregularities of the bodies in the solutions, calculations are also made assuming that the bodies are spherical. %9 conference paper %T Dynamics of a space tether in binary asteroids %@electronicmailaddress %@electronicmailaddress antonio.prado@inpe.br %@nexthigherunit 8JMKD3MGPCW/3F2UALS %@nexthigherunit 8JMKD3MGPCW/446AF4B %@secondarytype PRE PI %@usergroup self-uploading-INPE-MCTI-GOV-BR %@usergroup simone %@group CMC-ETES-SESPG-INPE-MCTIC-GOV-BR %@group DIDMC-CGETE-INPE-MCTIC-GOV-BR %@tertiarymark 8JMKD3MGP3W34P/3NATKT2 %@issn 0065-3438. %2 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m21c/2018/08.06.14.09.35 %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Universidade da Beira Interior %@affiliation Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) %@affiliation National Research University, Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Russian Federation %@affiliation Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) %B Advances in the Astronautical Sciences %@versiontype publisher %P 3901-3920 %4 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m21c/2018/08.06.14.09 %@documentstage not transferred %D 2018 %V 162 %O AAS/AIAA Astrodynamics Specialist Conference, 2017; Stevenson; United States; 20 August 2017 through 24 August 2017 %A Ferreira, Alessandra Ferraz da Silva, %A Prado, Antonio Fernando Bertachini de Almeida, %A Guerman, A.
